Does IKEA Sell California King Bed Frames? (Explained)

Shopping for furniture can be a hassle. It can be especially difficult looking for bed frames when you already have the mattress and need the right size bed frame to go with it.

Ikea often has a wide range of bed frames for whatever size mattress you own.

However, Ikea does not sell California King bed frames; they also do not sell California King mattresses or headboards. The largest bed frames you can find at Ikea are King size bed frames. You can always buy a standard King size bed frame or other bed frames.

Does Ikea Sell Standard King Bed Frames?

Does IKEA Sell California King Bed Frames

Ikea sells standard King bed frames; Ikea is not a good option if you’re looking for a California King bed frame.

But, if you’re looking for a standard King bed, then Ikea is the right place for you. Ikea sells bed frames made for an Eastern King or Standard King mattress.

So, if you’re looking to upgrade and get a new bed frame, you can go shopping for a King size bed and king-size mattress at Ikea. King-size bed frames are about 76 inches wide and 79.5 inches long.

King-size beds at Ikea are as wide as regular king-size bed frames. However, they are shorter by 5 inches.

Since Ikea does not sell California King bed frames or mattresses, many people who shop for California King can go with the King instead.

The size difference between the King size bed and the California King isn’t that much.

So, if you prefer bed frames from Ikea, you can go for the standard King size bed.

In addition to standard King bed frames, Ikea also has Queen size bed frames, full-size bed frames, and twin bed frames.

Unlike other retailers, Ikea’s bed frame and mattress sizes range is fairly limited. However, products from Ikea are quite reliable and of very good quality.

Can a Standard King Bed Frame Fit a California King Bed  Frame?

A standard King bed frame will not fit a California King bed. Standard King beds’ dimensions differ from those of a California King bed.

So, you can’t put the two together if you have a standard King bed and a California King frame.

You won’t even be able to use standard King sheets on a California King bed.

A California King bed is perfect for very tall people whose feet always hang off the edge of the bed.

A standard King size bed is wide enough, but it is not very long. California King beds are also excellent for narrow rooms because they are longer than wide.

A king bed is wider than a California King, while a California King is longer.

Although a California King bed is longer than a king bed, it has less surface area than a standard King bed.

Thus, you can’t get a standard King size bed into a California bed frame.

The standard bed will be too wide to fit in the frame, and there will be excess space at the head and foot of the bed.

The standard King size bed is shorter than the California King by four inches and wider by four inches.

These two-bed sizes are the largest and very similar sizes available. But they’re not the same.

The bed frame will be too long and narrow for the standard King bed. A standard King bed, also known as the Eastern King bed, is 76 inches wide and 80 inches long

The total surface area of the standard King mattress is 6080 sq inches. On the other hand, a California King bed is 72 inches wide and 84 inches long

And it has a total surface area of 6084, so on the whole, the standard King bed has a larger surface area than the California King bed.

Standard King bed and California King bed may not be remotely different, but you can’t use the same frames, sheets, or headboards for both.

So, the major difference is that the California King bed is longer and narrower than a standard King size bed.

The four-inch difference in width and length means you can’t fit a standard King mattress into a California King bed and vice versa.

What Is the Biggest Bed Frame Size At Ikea?

The biggest bed frame they sell at Ikea is the standard King size bed known as the Eastern King. Ikea does not sell the California King.

So if you go shopping at Ikea and want the biggest bed available, you should go for the standard King bed.

Ikea’s standard King bed frames are 76 inches wide and 79.5 inches long. The standard length for king-size beds is usually 80 inches.

But, the king-size bed frames at Ikea are usually half an inch shorter than bed frames in other retail outlets.

Standard King size beds are quite large, and they’re also very good for people who need extra space and can’t get it from Queen size beds.

Queen-sized beds are large enough, but for some people, they may be too crowded.

Since King size beds are also wide, at least four inches wider than California King beds.

They’re also good for families who share beds. Standard King bed frames are the more common big bed frames available.

Although some retailers carry California King bed frames, California frames are not bigger than King size beds. So basically, Ikea sells the biggest bed frames available.

In addition to Standard King bed frames, Ikea has various other bed frames and matrasses.

Unlike other sellers, Ikea does not have many different sizes of bed frames.

They have twin beds, full beds, Queen beds, and the largest being the King beds. So, if you look at their catalog, you’ll see fewer sizes.
